Leafbox — An outliner where everything is a list
Leafbox is an outliner where everything is a list. Write one line, press Enter for the next, and Tab to go one level deeper. Instead of adding more and more features, Leafbox focuses on how editing feels — so you can think in structure without fighting your tool.
Leafbox is made by shibuyak, the developer of the text editor Writebox.
Everything is a list. Enter, Tab, and Backspace are all you need to shape your thoughts.
Press Enter to split a row, Tab to indent it, and Backspace at the start to join it with the row above. Zoom into any row to focus on just that part, and drag rows to reorder them.

Built for the keyboard — and for Japanese input.
While you're converting text with an input method, Leafbox never takes over your keys, so no character is lost when you press Enter to confirm. Change any shortcut, run any command from the command palette, and use Leafbox in eight languages.

Your outlines stay on your device. No account, no tracking.
Leafbox saves everything on your computer and sends nothing anywhere. It makes a backup every day in your Documents folder, so your work survives even if you reinstall the app. Export to Markdown, OPML, or JSON at any time — and bring your outlines in from Workflowy or Dynalist.

Links and tags, kept as plain text.
Type [[ to link to another row or document, and add a #tag to find related rows across all your outlines. Backlinks show where a row is mentioned. Leafbox stays an outliner — it doesn't turn your notes into a database.
